Our 40th anniversary event was extremely successful and it was great to see so many familiar faces coming to show support.

We celebrated with some soothing Jazz music (thanks to Splashpoint Jazz), tasty food, drinks and fantastic prizes won in the charity tombola.

There were a great range of prizes to be won, kindly donated to the tombola by Sweet Moments and Ambers Florist. You would have also seen the beautiful flowers decorating the show room which were also made by Ambers Florist.

The lucky winner of the grand prize, a weekend away for two in London, was announced at the event. Brooklyn Hyundai congratulate our lucky winner Fiona Cameron. We hope you enjoy your fantastic weekend away!

The Bevern trust, our chosen charity, raised a brilliant amount of money which will really help with care in the community for severely disabled people. We couldn’t have done it without the amazing generosity of our loyal staff and customers.

With thanks to Splash Point Jazz for the two performances which we sincerely enjoyed listening to. Sweet moments for the delightful chocolates donated to the tombola and Ambers florist for also donating to the tombola and bringing the show room some colour with tasteful flower arrangements.

Most importantly, we would like to thank you to all of you for coming along to the event and making it a very memorable and joyous occasion.

Heres to another 40 years!

A personal message from the Managing-Director - Gerri Ori:

“I would like to thank everyone that came to Brooklyn Hyundai on the 30 June 2018.  There were over 200 of you there to help us celebrate this milestone.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon’s entertainment of music provided by the Neal Richardson Splash Point Jazz Band (Cars sponsored by Brooklyn Hyundai).

Well, 40 years where did that go?

Brooklyn Motors started in 1978 in Brooklyn Road (now the Vets), hence the name - It was founded by Ted, Myself and our Dad, John.  We started with £300 in the bank (I know I have mentioned this several times before but it is a good indicator how far we have come!)

Just a quick reminder of what you could buy for your money in 1978:

Milk was 11p and beer was only 20p a pint.

The Average House price was £13820 which is the average cost of a car today.

We were watching programmes like the Good Life, The Sweeney and Opportunity Knocks hosted by Hughie Green was sadly coming to an end.

Grease was the “word” at the Cinema and there certainly was a lot of grease around in those days at Brooklyn!

We continued the tradition set at our showroom opening by making this a charity event.

Matthew Cornish from the Beven Trust told us all about this marvellous local charity and we raised £500 by organising a Tombola with many fantastic prizes and holding a Silent Auction for tickets to see a Brighton v Leicester home game (kindly donated by our Insurance Brokers Bennet Christmas).

I had pleasure in announcing the winner of the London weekend theatre break for two (supplied by Daniel Ori at Not Just Travel) as Fiona Cameron, she was absolutely thrilled to bits and said “I never win anything”

The success of this business has also been down to all of our loyal and hardworking staff and Ted and I took this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of them.

The most important thank you must go to of course to our lovely customers and my sincere gratitude goes to all of you for your invaluable custom and loyalty.

I am sure our dear Mum and Dad were looking down on us that day with great pride at what we at Brooklyn have managed to achieve.

We look forward to celebrating our half century with all of you all.

Please feel free to view the film and photos we have of the event and days gone by.”

Kindest Regards

Gerri
