WELCOME TO BROOKLYN HYUNDAI

On 19th July 2014 Brooklyn Hyundai the family owned company based in Seaford celebrated opening of their brand new "state of the art" million pound Showroom and reception facilities on their existing site in Claremont Road.

The new facility was officially open by Tony Whitehorn President and CEO of Hyundai Car UK along with one of Brooklyn’s long standing customers’ Mavis Mabey.

Gerri Ori the Managing Director tells us "the company started in 1978 in Brooklyn Road, hence the name – It was founded by Ted, Myself and our Dad, John. We started with £300 in the bank and built the business up to such an extent that we had to find bigger premises. We gradually expanded the company and built up a reputation for great customer service.

This location we are in now in Claremont Road was ideal and we moved in three years later.

The turning point for Brooklyn Motors as it was known then was taking on the Hyundai Car Franchise in 1990. The only two models of car they sold were the Pony and the Stella and I remember being very proud of my Stella GSL demonstrator!

As you can appreciate the Hyundai Franchise has come on leaps and bounds and now it is one the top five car manufacturers in the world.

We at Brooklyn have shared this success and have experienced a phenomenal growth in our business. In recent years we have become only too aware that our premises were becoming too small and outdated. Ted and I decided that we needed to move forward and set about the process of planning this lovely new state of the art million pound premises that we are in now.

This has taken a lot longer than we had originally anticipated.

We have had a few challenges on the way and a few more grey hairs!!

The success of this business has also been down to all of our loyal and hardworking staff. Ted and I would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to all of them. They have performed above and beyond what is required and have even exceeded our targets despite working in such cramped and dire circumstances when the build was taking place.

During this time we improved our Customer Service Index Rating and we are now one of the top performing dealers in the country. Another thank you goes to our loyal customers for helping us achieve these results.

Many of our staff have been with us for a number of years and have grown and shared our vision and they in turn have progressed in their careers. We are proud announce that we have promoted Paul Deeley is now our Sales Director and Derek Bailey is now our Finance Director.

Since the opening of the new Showroom and Service Reception we have had record months since and I think it not only down not to the lovely facilities we have but also great staff and a fantastic product range with new models being launched on almost a monthly basis."
