HOW THE MOTABILITY SCHEME WORKS

The Motability Scheme enables disabled people to use their government-funded motability allowance to lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. In fact, since the scheme was set up in 1978, Motability has helped over 3 million people get mobile with a new vehicle.

Whether you are a disabled driver or are looking for a vehicle for a family member or carer to drive on your behalf, we are here to help with our extensive Motability car range from many manufacturers.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE MOTABILITY CAR SCHEME?

If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, getting a new car is easier and more affordable than ever. Through Motability, you simply exchange part or all of that allowance to lease the car of your choice.

The scheme provides the support you need to enjoy worry-free motoring, including:

  • Insurance, servicing and maintenance
  • Full RAC breakdown assistance
  • Annual tax disc
  • Tyre and windscreen replacement
  • 60,000 mileage allowance over 3 years
  • Many adaptations at no extra cost
